Zachary "Zach" Louis Pfeffer (born January 6, 1995 in Dresher , Pennsylvania ) is an American football player .

Player career

youth

Peffer comes from the city of Dresher , which is in the north of Philadelphia . He attended Upper Dublin High School in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania and played for various soccer teams in his youth. In 2010 he took part in one semester at the IMG Academy as part of the USSF's junior program. In 2010 he also played in the Philadelphia Union's U-17 selection and participated with the team in the MLS U-17 SUM Cup in Houston , Texas .

Philadelphia Union

After training with the Philadelphia Union first team for several months in 2010 , he made his debut for the team on October 1, 2010 in a friendly against Deportivo Guadalajara . On December 22, 2010, Pfeffer signed a home grown player contract with Philadelphia, becoming the first player to receive such a contract at Union. This allowed him to be committed to the MLS franchise without having played on a college team or being selected through a draft.

On September 17, 2011, he made his debut, at the age of 16, in Major League Soccer .

2013 was loaned to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . There he played in the A-youth of the Bundesliga club. He scored 2 goals in 9 games in the 2012/2013 season.

In the 2014 and 2015 seasons he also played for the Harrisburg City Islanders in the United Soccer League . This results from a partnership between the Philadelphia Union and the Islanders.

Colorado Rapids

In January 2016, he moved to the Colorado Rapids in exchange for another draft pick in the MLS SuperDraft 2016 .

National team

Peffer already played for the U-14 and U-15 student teams in the USA. From 2009 to 2010 he played with the U-15 / U-16 USSF FC Delco Academy before making his debut for the US U-17 team in 2010 .

In 2012 and 2013 he was on the pitch in several U-18 games . In 2014 he then switched to the U-20 junior team and took part with the team in the 2014 Dallas Cup, a renowned youth tournament in the USA. In 2015 he made his debut in the US Under-23 team , which is preparing to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics .
