The Glasbachtal is a meadow valley near Buchenberg in the Black Forest-Baar district in southwest Germany.
The valley was originally named after the farms there that produced local glassware . In the immediate vicinity of too much forest and the resulting possibility of operating charcoal piles, the glass distillery was feasible. On August 10, 1954, the Glasbachtal was declared a landscape protection area by ordinance of the Villingen district office at the time . The area has a size of 160.0 hectares and has the protected area number 3.26.005.
On the natural meadows of the 160 hectare area you can find wood lice , barwort , butterwort and orchid , among other things . They provide a habitat for butterflies such as ringed mother-of-pearl butterflies , valerian piebald butterflies , aurora butterflies , small meadow birds , beaver-nests and other rams . Since 1985 part of the area has been looked after by a local branch of the BUND , which among other things created pools for amphibians.
The Glasbach, which rises on the Brogen and is the main source of the Fischbach , flows through the Glasbach Valley .
The Glasbachtal has been made accessible by a signposted circular hiking trail since 2004 , through which historical farms and mills can be visited.
