Fritz Tack (born June 7, 1942 in Goldberg ) is a German politician ( SED , PDS , Die Linke ). From 2006 to 2016 he was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . On October 4, 2011, he opened the constituent session of the 6th state parliament as old-age president.

Life

Tack graduated from high school in 1961 and then studied agricultural sciences at the University of Rostock until 1967 , where he graduated as a qualified farmer . In 1971 the doctorate followed. agr. and in 1981 the habilitation. From 1971 to 1974 he worked as a scientific assistant in the agricultural engineering section at Rostock University. From 1974 to 1981 he was a research assistant at the FZT Dummerstorf. Since 1980 he has been working as a university lecturer, from 1989 he was a full professor in Rostock. He is currently honorary chairman of the Thünengesellschaft e. V. Tack is non-denominational, married and has three children.

Fritz Tack joined the SED in 1978 because he was convinced "that the development in the GDR is the right one". In 1987 he became party secretary in the agricultural engineering section.

Fritz Tack was department spokesman for agroecology in Rostock from 1990 to 1996. From 1996 to 2000 he was Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Rostock. From 2000 to 2004 he was department spokesman for agroecology and from 2004 to 2006 doctoral officer of the faculty. Tack had been a member of the Bad Doberan district council since 2004. He has been a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament since October 16, 2006. He was elected from the Left Party's country list. The candidacy in the Bad Doberan II constituency was unsuccessful every time. In the 5th electoral term from 2006 to 2011 he was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Environment and Consumer Protection. In addition, from April 2009 he was deputy chairman of the Die Linke parliamentary group and its spokesman for agricultural policy and rural areas. From November 2011 he was Chairman of the Agriculture Committee.
