First house Valois

The first house of Valois (in contrast to and as a temporal predecessor of the royal house of Valois ) is the family of the first counts of Ostervant , Amiens , Valois , Vexin etc. It is attested from the end of the 9th century and died at the end of the 11th century out.

The best-known family members are Count Raoul IV , † 1074, who married Anna of Kiev around 1061 , who was regent of France for her underage son, King Philip I , at that time until 1067 , and his son Simon , who is unmarried and withdrew to the monastery without an heir and on this occasion distributed his property:
