House of Wessex

The golden wyvern was the heraldic animal of the House of Wessex
The House of Wessex , also House of Cerdic , is the dynasty of the Anglo-Saxon kings of Wessex and later of all of England from the 6th to the 11th centuries. The most important of them are Egbert von Wessex (802–839) and Alfred the Great (871–899).
