Meopham is a historic street village and civil parish with about 6700 inhabitants (as of 2011) in the north-western part of Kent in south-east England. It is located a few kilometers south of the Gravesend administrative center of the Borough of Gravesham along the A227 road .

The village was first mentioned as Meapaham (Meapa's village) in 788, during the reign of King Offa of Mercien .

In the 14th century, Archbishop (1327–1332) Simon von Meopham († 1333) founded the church as part of an Augustinian canon . The church St John the Baptist was built in the 1320s in place of an older church. It is an Anglican church building and classified as a Grade I cultural monument .
