Gravesham is a borough in the north-western part of Kent , England east of Greater London . It is on the south bank of the Thames across from Tilbury, Essex. Around 95,000 people live in the district, between 8 and 9% of whom are of Asian descent. The area is 99.02 km². The administration is based in Gravesend , and the district has existed in its current form since a territorial reform in 1974.
Gravesham has been a sister of Neumünster since 1980 as part of the town twinning .
