Dover is a district in Kent in England . The administrative seat is the city of Dover ; other important places are Aylesham , Deal , Eythorne , Goodnestone . Kingsdown , Sandwich , Temple Ewell , Walmer and Wingham .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was formed from the merger of the Boroughs Deal, Dover and Sandwich, the Rural District Dover and most of the Rural District Eastry.
