Sevenoaks is a district in Kent in England . The administrative seat is Sevenoaks ; other significant places are Ash-cum-Ridley , Brasted , Edenbridge , Farningham , Knockholt , Otford , Seal , Swanley and Westerham .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was formed from the merger of the Urban District Sevenoaks, the Rural District Sevenoaks and part of the Rural District Dartford. The village of Knockholt was part of the London Borough of Bromley until 1969 , when it was added to the Sevenoaks Rural District.
