First house in Anjou

The First House of Anjou , also called Ingelgeriens in France , is the first ruling dynasty in Anjou . It is descended from Ingelger , † 886, Vice Count of Angers , whose son Fulko I the Red raised himself to Count, which was recognized by Duke Hugo the Great in 930 . By inheritance, the family came into the possession of the County of Vendôme .

With Count Gottfried II , the first house of Anjou died out in the male line in 1060. Inherited it was the Count of Gâtinais , Geoffroy Ferreol , the progenitor of the house Château-Landon , the dynasty of the Plantagenets sprang.
