Fritz Wedel

Fritz Wedel (born October 15, 1916 in Kirn , † December 30, 1964 in Neunkirchen ) was a German politician ( FDP / DPS ).

Life and work

Wedel was a master chimney sweep . In 1938/39 he did Reich Labor Service and from 1939 to 1942 and 1944/45 he took part in World War II as a soldier .

Political party

Wedel joined the DPS in 1951 and was district chairman of the party in St. Wendel . Heinrich Schneider described him as one of the party's best speakers and organizers. By constituting the DPS as the Saarland regional association of the FDP, he became a member of the Liberals.

MP

Wedel was elected to the Saarland Landtag in 1955 , to which he belonged until his death. In 1963/64 he was chairman of the FDP / DPS parliamentary group. On January 4, 1957, he was sent to the German Bundestag , to which he was a member until the end of the second electoral term in 1957. He entered parliament via the Saarland state list.
