Fritz Wittek

Fritz Wittek (* 1961 ) is a German drummer of the Creative Jazz .

Wittek learned to play drums as an autodidact . He first played in a trio with Wollie Kaiser and Dieter Manderscheid . Then he belonged to the group Tome XX and toured Europe, Africa and Latin America with these bands. He currently plays in the Scordatura drum trio (including with his wife, the percussionist Marianne Steffen-Wittek ). He also appeared in the film Pola X and can also be heard on albums by Norbert Stein ( Die 5 Tage ) and Anne Hartkamp ( happy ). He also taught a. a. at the Open Jazz House School .
