Frog Mill Ait

Frog Mill Ait is an island in the Thames in England between Medmenham in Buckinghamshire and Hurley in Berkshire . The island is upriver from Hurley Lock and is part of Berkshire.

The island is named after a mill on the shore. Frog Mill Ait and the adjacent Black Boy Island were a problem for shipping as the towpath crossed the island from the shipping canal. Therefore the ropes had to be pulled across the island, which often resulted in boats being pulled ashore.

The name Poisson Deux is associated with the area and is believed to come from the fish traps that were attached to the river here.
