The Frolow Ridge ( Russian Хребет Фролова Chrebet Frolowa ) is a 14.5 km long mountain ridge in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises with north-south orientation immediately west of the Arruiz Glacier in the Bowers Mountains .
Aerial photos were taken during the US operation Highjump (1946–1947). Soviet scientists carried out a survey in 1958 and named the ridge. It is named after the Soviet polar explorer Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Frolov (1902–1960), who was director of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute from 1950 to 1960 . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the name into English in 1964.
