definition

Fru Fru is a slightly tingly tasting sour milk with a fruit addition on the bottom of the cup, which is offered in different flavors. At the moment these are: strawberry , blueberry , wild berry , cherry , raspberry , peach / apricot , mango , coffee , vanilla-strawberry, vanilla- sour cherry and vanilla . Fru Fru curd cheese is now also available in strawberry and peach / passion fruit .

Fru Fru is eaten with a spoon like yogurt and can nowadays be stirred or shaken before consumption as it is thick. A few years ago the Fru Fru was available in a solid version, where you could spoon your way through the sour milk to the fruit base. However, by changing the recipe, in which the fat content was reduced and the sugar content increased, the consistency changed and the typical sour milk taste was largely lost. At the same time, the packaging size shrank, so that now - at the same price - it only contains 200 g instead of 250 g.

Since March 2009, for the 50th anniversary, a separate product line has been offered fru fru as it was then . The new edition with spoon-proof, sparkling sour milk in a transparent cup is available in the varieties strawberry, apricot and forest berry.

In the past, Fru Fru was sold by NÖM in tall glasses made of brown glass. Unlike later, the jam was on top. It was difficult to get to the bottom with a normal coffee spoon. That is why there were long- handled FruFru spoons especially for this purpose .
