The Frutlander is an independent regional newspaper in the Bernese Oberland for the communities of Aeschi , Adelboden , Frutigen , Kandergrund , Kandersteg , Krattigen and Reichenbach . It is produced in combination with the Frutiger Anzeiger , the official publication organ of the aforementioned political communities. The publisher of the newspaper is "Frutiglander Medien AG" in Frutigen.
history
The Frutigland was the only region in the Bernese Oberland , in an official gazette, but there was no editorially enhanced regional newspaper. This fact motivated the publishers of the von Saanen Gazette , Frank and Richard Müller, and the publishers of the Frutiger Anzeiger , Rita and Bernhard Egger, to launch their own regional newspaper in December 2005.
Frequency of publication
The Frutiglander appears twice a week as a subscription newspaper. The WEMF - certified circulation is 4,048 (previous year 4,049) sold / distributed copies.
The Frutigland countries reported mainly from the region ( Frutigland , Engstligental and Kander ) and about events that affect the region or have a connection to the region.
Award
The Swiss Working Group for Mountain Regions (SAB) awarded the 2009 media prize to the Frutiglander . The SAB jury has recognized the initiative of the Frutiglander to found a subscription newspaper against the background of the increasingly impoverished press landscape.
