Fuchsenkapelle (Weismain)

The Fuchsenkapelle in Weismain is a Catholic chapel in the Upper Franconian town of Weismain in the Lichtenfels district in Bavaria .

The chapel is located at 336  m above sea level. NHN on a small corridor below Hans-Wolf-Straße in Weismain.

history

In the place of today's chapel there was already a chapel from the 18th century. This building was destroyed on January 2, 2006 during tree felling work. As a reconstruction of the original building, it was rebuilt in spring and summer 2006 by the Weismain Kolping family . The topping-out ceremony was celebrated on May 5, 2006; the blessing was given by Pastor Josef Lauer on June 8, 2006.

The chapel has a cuboid floor plan with masonry over a sandstone base and closes with a saddle-up tent roof . On the north-west side of the chapel there is an angular archway, which is closed with a wrought iron, waist-high grille and allows a view of the chapel's furnishings.
