Franz Fuiko

Franz Fuiko (born July 31, 1964 in Griffen ) is an Austrian chef.

Career

After training in Pörtschach and Arlberg from 1979 onwards , Fuiko went to Restaurant Mattes in Vienna , to Restaurant Le Petit Nice with Gérald Passédat in Marseille (two Michelin stars ), on the Vistafjord , to Hotel Seespitz in Ischgl and to the Gramshammer in Vail (Colorado) .

In 1987 he returned to Austria and became the patron of the Mesnerhaus in Mauterndorf , which was awarded two Gault Millau toques. In 1994 he was named Austria's Chef of the Year by Gault Millau . From the end of 2007 to the end of 2017 Fuiko was the head chef and managing director of Carpe Diem Finest Fingerfood in Getreidegasse in Salzburg , which was awarded a Michelin star in 2013 .

Fuiko has been running the MountainVita apartment hotel in Obertauern since 2012 .

Franz Fuiko's son Fabian Fuiko is also a chef and has had his own restaurant Greisslerei in Oberursel near Frankfurt since 2018 .
