Fujino Tsunesaburō

Fujino Tsunesaburō ( Japanese 藤 野 恒 三郎 ; * January 28, 1907 , † August 15, 1992 ) was a Japanese medic and bacteriologist .

He taught and researched at Osaka University and remained there after completing his career as an emeritus . In 1950, he discovered in the investigation of an epidemic occurring food poisoning that for causative bacterium Vibrio parahaemolyticus .

Prices

In 1964 he received the Asahi Prize for the discovery and research of the bacterium Vibrio parahaemolyticus .

The Takeda Medicine Prize followed in 1972 , also for the discovery of this bacterium.

In 1986 he was awarded the Osaka City Culture Prize.
