Fujiwara no Tadamichi
Fujiwara no Tadamichi ( Japanese 藤原 忠 通 ; * 1097 ; † 1164 ) was the eldest son of the Japanese regent ( Kampaku ) Fujiwara no Tadazane and a member of the politically influential clan of Fujiwara . From 1123 to 1158 he was Sesshō and Kampaku the emperors Sutoku and Konoe and Kampaku of Go-Shirakawa .
In the Hōgen rebellion of 1156 Tadamichi was on the side of Go-Shirakawa.
Tadamichi had more than a dozen children from various women including:
- Fujiwara no Kiyoko (1122–1182), second wife of Sutoku- Tennō ,
- Konoe Motozane (1143–1166), Kampaku and founder of the Konoe family,
- Matsudono Motofusa (1145–1231), Sesshō, Kampaku and founder of the Matsudono family,
- Fujiwara no Muneko (1146–1173), second wife of Nijō- Tennō and mother of Rokujō- Tennō,
- Kujō Kanezane (1149–1207), Kampaku, Daijō Daijin and founder of the Kujō family,
- Fujiwara no Kanefusa (1153-1217), Daijō Daijin,
- Jien (1155-1225), chief priest of the Buddhist Tendai-shū ,
- Fujiwara no Shimeko (1131–1176), second wife of the Konoe-Tennō.
