The Fullastern Rock (from English full aster , 'full power back' ) is a cliff rock washed over by the sea west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located in the middle of the Johnston Passage 11 km west-northwest of Cape Adriasola on Adelaide Island .
The rock got its name after the RRS John Biscoe was only able to avoid a collision by performing a suitable maneuver in 1963.
