Fuminori Nakamura
Fuminori Nakamura ( 中 村 文 則 , Nakamura Fuminori ; born September 2, 1977 ) is a Japanese writer.
Life
Nakamura was born in Tōkai ( Aichi Prefecture ). He graduated from Fukushima University with a degree in Public Administration and Government Administration in 2000 ; today he lives in Tokyo . In Japan, Fuminori Nakamura has published more than a dozen novels. His works have been translated into numerous languages and have appeared in the USA, England, China, France and Spain, among others. In 2002 he received the Shinchō Young Talent Award for his debut novel. In 2004 he was awarded the Noma Literature Prize for Shakō and the Akutagawa Prize the following year for Tsuchi no naka no kodomo . In 2010 he received the erhielte Kenzaburō Prize for the novel Suri . Suri was also well received by critics in the English translation entitled The Thief . The novel was published in 2015 by the Swiss Diogenes Verlag under the title Der Dieb as the first of Nakamura's works in German.
Nakamura mentions Franz Kafka and Fyodor Michailowitsch Dostojewski as literary influences .
