JR Reed (* 13. December 1967 in Corvallis , Oregon , civic Jason William Reed ) is an American actor and musician . He grew up in Las Vegas , where he graduated from Bonanza High School.

Tenacious D

Reed is Roadie several bands, stepped into the role of "Lee" in Tenacious D's HBO series in the episode The Fan and the feature film Kings of Rock - Tenacious D on. The song Lee from Tenacious D's first album is about him.

On stage appearances with Tenacious D he occasionally plays the roles "Lee", "The Devil", "The Metal", "A Mushroom" or "Spider-Man". Reed appeared on stage with the band on December 2, 2006 live on an episode of Saturday Night Live as "The Metal," during the song of the same name from the album Pick of Destiny .

He is also active in the band Trainwreck with Tenacious D's guitarist Kyle Gass .
