Funadhoo ( Dhivehi ފުނަދޫ, rarely also Funadu ) is a small island in the Maldives in the North Malé Atoll near the capital Malé .
The 280 meter long and 310 meter wide island is located about 500 meters north of the island of Malé and 800 meters west of the airport island of Hulhulé , but in contrast to this, it does not belong administratively to the city, but to the administrative atoll Kaafu . Of the island's area of 4.4 hectares , 2.4 hectares are due to land reclamation from the sea.
Funadhoo is owned by the Maldivian state company State Trading Organization Plc (or its subsidiary Fuel Supplies Maldives Private Limited ). The island is home to the STO Central Fuel Storage , the state's central warehouse for fuels , as well as the STO Peoples Choice Fuel and Lubricants Business Outlet, a sales point for gasoline , diesel and kerosene .
