Funaota is a motu on the northern tip of the Nukufetau atoll in the island state of Tuvalu .
geography
Funaota lies together with the eastern Matanukulaelae on the closed northern edge of the atoll. It is one of the larger islands in the atoll. From there, the closed reef rim extends further to the southwest. Only after a few kilometers there is another well-known island, Teafatule .
