Matanukulaelae is a small motu on the northern tip of the reef edge of the Nukufetau atoll in the island state of Tuvalu .
geography
Matanukulaelae is located near Funaota on the northern tip of the atoll. To the southeast, the closed reef rim extends further with several tiny, unnamed motu. Only after a few kilometers is there another well-known island, Teafuanonu .
