Fur TV is a British comedy series whose main characters are dolls. The basic themes of the series are violence, drugs and sex. Based on a short film (originally intended as a pilot episode ) from 2004, the puppet sitcom was produced by MTV in 2008 . It has many fans, especially in England, and is widely regarded as a "cult". In many parts, the series is inspired by Peter Jackson's puppet trash film Meet the Feebles .

The figures

The focus of the series are the three flat-share dolls Lapeño Enriquez, Mervin J Minky and Fat Ed Tubbs.

  • Lapeño is a toad-like doll. He is originally from Brazil and works as a DJ in a disco. Because of his coolness and his talent for understanding women, he is a valued advisor to the other dolls when it comes to love. Lapeño is usually very relaxed and appears rather cool and calculating. He seems to be the only one of the three who cares about things like morality or decency. He also loves vinyl records and music in general. Lapeño is often simply called "DJ Peenie" in the disco because many have problems pronouncing his name.
  • Mervin is an orange, thin doll and basically the opposite of Lapeño. His only talent is to satisfy himself, as he always fails when it comes to love affairs. Mervin practices excessive masturbation and is often referred to by Fat Ed as a "lousy wanker". In Lapeño's view, Mervin could possibly die from it because he "will jerk himself to death". Mervin has a special relationship with Fat Ed, whom he cooks and has to provide with alcohol. Mervin likes Fat Ed and would do anything for him, even though he hates and despises him. Mervin is portrayed as extremely stupid and naive but still very good-natured and loyal to others. The Mervin doll was intentionally made asymmetrical by the creators of the series to make it look so "stupid and yet lovable".
  • Fat Ed is an overweight blue doll. He is a die-hard heavy metal fan and loves to use violence. He loves splatter films and chainsaws and feels constantly annoyed by Mervin. Fat Ed is originally from the United States, but had to flee to Great Britain because, according to his own statements , he murdered Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur , as well as Kurt Cobain . He also kills a few people in the course of the series. In the original version, Fat Ed was intended as a silent edge in the spirit of the British "Hard Man", but his character was changed for the series. He also has a cousin who is actually his twin brother and is also called Ed ( Fit Ed ). But he is the exact opposite of Ed ( Fat Ed ): Muscular and without digestive problems and morally higher than Ed.
