Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star ( jap. ふたりはプリキュアSplash ☆ Star, dt as "we are Couple Pretty Cure - Splash ☆ Star.") Is the title of a Japanese Anime - television series , which is part of the franchise Pretty Cure , a complex of anime television series and films belonging to the magical girl genre.

Saki Hyūga ( 日 向 咲 , Hyūga Saki ) is a second grade student at Yūnaki Middle School and pitcher of the softball team. Mai Mishō ( 美 翔 舞 , Mishō Mai ) is also in the second grade and has just returned to her hometown. When they were both 9 years old, they had a mysterious experience together at a summer festival. On this day the two girls met Flappy and Choppy, who had come from the garden of the springs, at the roots of the big tree. Six of seven sources are occupied by evil. If evil also falls into the possession of the ultimate source, bad things will happen. With the help of Flappy and Choppy, Saki and Mai become legendary fighters Pretty Cure. To save the world, they fight from now on as Cure Bloom (Saki Hyūga) and Cure Egret (Mai Mishō).

With Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star appeared on February 5, 2006 to January 28, 2007 with 49 episodes, a new edition of the earlier Pretty Cure series with similar characters. This was directed by Toshiaki Komura and Akira Inagami was the character designer. The anime was broadcast in Italian by RaiDue.

From March 2006 to February 2007 Nakayoshi Comics by Kodansha published the manga Futari wa Pretty Cure: Splash Star ( ふ た り は プ リ キ ュ ア ス プ ラ ッ シ ュ ス タ ー ). The drawings are from Butago Kamikita. In September 2006, the chapters were published in a Tankōbon volume .
On December 6, 2006, another Tankōbon was released for the movie.
