So they get mobile-like devices independently of each other in which the beings Mipple ( ミ ッ プ ル , Mippuru ) and Mepple ( メ ッ プ ル , Meppuru ) from the garden of light live. They are refugees from another dimension who have been attacked by demons from the Dutsuko zone. The demons try to get their possession of seven magical prism stones in order to be able to plunge all worlds into eternal darkness. Mipple and Mepple explain to Nagisa and Honoka that it is their job to transform themselves into the "Protectors of Light" (English "Pretty Cure") and the "Rainbow Garden" (the earth) and the "Garden of Light" (the World from which Mipple and Mepple come) to protect from the demons. Pretty Cure receive help from Hikari Kūjō ( 九 条 ひ か り , Kūjō Hikari ), part of the Queen of Light. During an attack, it broke into 13 parts. Twelve parts became little fairies (the Heartiels) and contain the Queen's memory. The 13th part is Hikari, whose first name means something like "light" and has no memories.
