Fyffes is an Irish company based in Dublin . It is one of the largest fruit traders in the world and also one of the largest fruit importers and distributors in Europe, and is the European market leader in the banana segment. Mainly bananas, pineapples, melons and mushrooms are traded.

In March 2014, a planned merger with the US company Chiquita Brands International became known. A consortium consisting of the Brazilian fruit company Cutrale and the also Brazilian financial company Grupo Safra of Joseph Safra then submitted a counter-bid. Chiquita agreed to this in October 2014, so the merger with Fyffes did not materialize. At the end of 2016, Fyffes agreed on a full takeover by Sumitomo Corporation , Japan's largest banana importer, for 751 million euros.

Together with Gemüsering Stuttgart, Fyffes runs the Fruchtimport vanWylick joint venture , which mainly imports bananas.
