The Gällivare Sportklubb is a Swedish sports club from Gällivare in the north of Sweden . The now split-off soccer team of the main winter sports club played one season in the second highest Swedish league .

The footballers of Gällivare SK played for a long time in the lower class league area. Two years after the team was promoted to third division in 1966, they took first place in their season and reached the second highest division. For the team from Lapland , the 1969 season was not very successful, as bottom of the table behind Gimonäs CK and Gefle IF , they rose again directly. In the following years she was a constant member of the North Norrland third division season, where she placed primarily in the front half of the table. Between 1974 and 1976, the club missed as runner-up of the season behind IFK Luleå , Notvikens IK and Älvsby IF the promotion or participation in the promotion round. He then slipped into the rear midfield and was relegated to the fourth division in 1981. In the following years, GSK fluctuated as an elevator team between third and fourth division. In a league reform in 1986, the club was assigned to the fourth level of play, followed two years later by relegation to the fifth division.

After rising again in 1991 Gällivare SK returned two years later to the third division. There the team reached the runner-up behind Lira BK , but in the subsequent promotion round they failed at Visby IF Gute with two defeats. Until the end of the decade she still occupied table places in the middle of the table, the 1999 season ended after only one win of the season on a relegation place. In 2001, the club missed relegation in the fourth division before the team fell victim to a league reform in 2005. As the bottom of the table, the association downgraded the club. Thereupon the soccer team broke away from the club and merged with the soccer team of the local rival Malmbergets AIF to Gällivare-Malmbergets FF , the new club rose to the fifth division a year later.
