The gardeners and hackers museum , opened in 1979, is dedicated to the history and culture of Bamberg's gardeners and hackers (Franconian for winegrowers ).

It is set up in a typical gardener's house in Bamberg's gardening district. The museum shows the living and working environment of a gardening family around 1900 with living room and bedroom, kitchen, pantry, courtyard, utility rooms and garden. A separate exhibition shows objects from the gardeners' religious customs. On the occasion of the State Horticultural Show Bamberg 2012 , the museum was redesigned and reopened on April 22, 2012.
