Gerry Théberge
Gérard "Gerry" Théberge (born December 18, 1930 in Saint-Hyacinthe , Québec , † May 1, 2000 in Waterloo , Ontario ) was a Canadian ice hockey player .
Career
Gerry Théberge began his career as a hockey player with the Granby Royals and Victoriaville Tigers, for which he was active from 1947 to 1949 in the Quebec Junior Hockey League. He then played for two years for the Guelph Baltimores from the Junior Ontario Hockey Association. From 1951 to 1953 he worked for the Jonquiere Marquis and Matane Red Rocks in the senior league St. Lawrence Hockey League. From 1953 to 1960 he played for the Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen from the Ontario Hockey Association. With the team he won the Allan Cup in 1955 , the Canadian amateur championship. He also represented Canada with the Dutchmen at the 1956 Winter Olympics. From 1961 to 1964, he ran after a one-year break for the Woodstock Athletics from the Senior Ontario Hockey Association.
International
For Canada , Théberge took part in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , where he and his team won the bronze medal.
