Géza from Csergheő

Géza von Csergheő , full name Géza Georg von Csergheő de Nemes-Tacskánd , (born July 23, 1840 in Heiligenkreuz near Vienna , † November 8, 1895 in Budapest ) was an Austro-Hungarian officer and heraldist .

Géza von Csergheő first visited the Theresianum in Vienna and was made a lieutenant in 1859 . In 1869 he came to Vienna as a first lieutenant in the Hungarian Life Guard , where he was able to pursue his heraldic interests and studies intensively. The preliminary meetings that led to the founding of the Adler Heraldic-Genealogical Society in 1870 took place in his apartment .

For Siebmacher's coat of arms he wrote the volumes on Hungary and Transylvania .
