Gönül Sen-Menzel

Gönül Sen-Menzel (born April 2, 1949 in Diyarbakır , Turkey ; † March 29, 2014 in Cologne ) was a Turkish visual artist who had lived in Germany since 1981.

In Turkey, after graduating from university in 1969 , she attended the Istanbul University of Education and graduated in 1972 with a diploma in art. She then worked as an art teacher for nine years. In 1983 she began further studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . In 1989 she graduated as a master class student.

In addition to her work as a painter and draftsman, which is valued by the professional world, Gönül Sen-Menzel wrote and illustrated the bilingual Vita children's book series (Turkish / German) for the school book publisher Anadolu, which deals with various journeys of the vitamin Vita through the human body.

Sen-Menzel lived and worked in Cologne.
