Güncang

The "community güncang monba ethnic township of Monba " ( 更章门巴族乡 , Gēngzhāng Ménbāzú Xiang ) is a nationality community in the municipality Bayi the city Nyingchi in Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China .

history

The historical forerunner of the nationality community was the " People's Commune Pelung der Monba" (排 龙 门巴族 公社), founded in 1967 , which had been converted on April 23, 1988 into "Pelung der Monba" (排 龙 门巴族 乡). After a massive landslide on June 10, 2000 caused a slope of the Yi'ong Shan (易 贡山) to go down and the resulting damming of the Nyang Qu Pelung flooded and destroyed, the county government decided to take the community in one more suitable place in Güncang to rebuild. Since the end of 2000, the nationality community has therefore had its current name. Güncang has an area of ​​approx. 390 km² and less than a thousand inhabitants (1990: 629; 2000: 842), including around 600 members of the Monba nationality.
