Naiyu

The "community Naiyü the Lhoba " ( Chinese  南伊珞巴族乡 , Pinyin Nanyi Luoba Zú Xiang ) is a nationality community in the county Mainling the administrative district of Nyingchi in Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . Naiyü has an area of ​​450 km² and less than 500 inhabitants (1990: 310; 2000: 349). Of the 349 residents counted in the 2000 census, 272 (77.94%) were of the Lhoba nationality and another 76 (21.78%) were Tibetans .

In old Tibet, the Lhoba Naiyüs lived mainly from shifting cultivation . Today agriculture, especially the cultivation of highland barley (Qingke), is the municipality's most important industry.

Administrative structure

Naiyü is made up of three villages. These are:

  • Village Naiyü (南伊村), center, seat of the municipal government;
  • Caizhao village (才 召 村);
  • Village Kyunglin (琼林村).
