Karin Lübben (* in Jena as Karin Kratzsch ) is a German actress and theater pedagogue as well as the founder and director of the " Marionette and Figure Theater Seidenfädchen".

Life

Karin Lübben was born in Jena. She trained as an actress at the Max Reinhardt School of the State of Berlin and found stage engagements a. a. in the Landestheater Niederbayern , Contra-Kreis-Theater , Grenzlandtheater Aachen , Pfalztheater , Grillo-Theater and Theater Bielefeld .

She took part as a speaker at concerts, for example in 1990 in the Folkwang Museum Essen to the music of Tibor Harsanyi, played by the soloists of the Philharmonia Hungarica under the direction of Helmut Imig , for the fairy tale " The Brave Little Tailor " by the Brothers Grimm. In 1986, Karin Lübben founded the "puppet and figure theater 'Seidenfädchen" "in Essen / Ruhr as a figure maker, actress, dramaturge and director. The theater started in a basement on Essen's Rüttenscheider Straße (RÜ). Lübben mainly stages pieces specially developed based on texts from children's and youth literature, such as " The Snow Queen ", " Peterchens Mondfahrt ", " The brave little tailor ", " The dwarf nose ", " The ghost of Canterville " and the comedy "Strieses Welttheater" , Lübben's puppet adaptation of the well-known stage swing “ The Robbery of the Sabine Women ”. In addition to Karin Lübben, artists such as Gretchen Grannemann (for example for “Die Schneekönigin” and “Strieses Weltthater”) and Hanne-Martje Münther (for “Die Biene Maja”) have worked on sets for silk thread productions. The piece “The Little People of Swabedoo” was developed in collaboration with design students from the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . Lübben has used masks, large figures and, in some cases, hand puppets in addition to the marionettes in the pieces " Pooh the Bear ", " Little I am I " and " Maya the Bee ".

New productions in Bonn in 2005 included “ The Emperor's New Clothes ”, “ The Snow Maiden ”, “The Beard of Nicholas”, “ Frau Holle ”, “ The Nightingale ” and 2016 “ The Frog King ”. For the Zoological Research Museum Alexander Koenig she produced the puppet and figure pieces “A mouse wants to go high”, “Don't sit in the ant's nest!” And in 2010 on the occasion of Johanna Kinkel's 200th birthday after her “Verzellsche for Blahge: 'Dä Hond on dat Eechhohn' ”the piece“ The dog and the squirrel ”premiered in Bonn's Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Haus .

As a theater educator and director, Lübben u. a. in Bonn at the Clara-Fey-Gymnasium for all grades with the pupils productions based on texts by Michael Ende (“The Juggler's Tale”), Molière (“The learned women”), Cornelia Funke (“The Wild Chickens and the Happiness of the Earth”), Raymond Queneau ("Autobus S"), Dario Fo ("House painters are forgetful") and Aristophanes ("The birds"); this work has won several awards in competitions and festivals.

Karin Lübben is married to the author Gerd Hergen Lübben ; they have two sons together; Jörn Felix Lübben (* 1966) is a university professor and Tobias Lübben (* 1973) is a journalist.
