Günther-Joachim Rothe

Günter-Joachim Rothe (born June 24, 1915 - July 18, 2003 ) was a German officer, most recently a brigadier general in the Bundeswehr .

Life

Günter Rothe was the son of the district court councilor and major of the reserve, Ernst Rothe, and Frida Rothe born Bachmann (1887–1970).

He graduated in the armed forces , the general staff training . As a general staff officer he was among other things deployed to the Wehrmacht commander- in- chief in the Netherlands . His last rank in the Wehrmacht was a major .

In the Bundeswehr he was, among other things, from November 17, 1960 to September 30, 1963 commander of the 11th Artillery Regiment in Oldenburg . In September 1964 he was promoted to brigadier general. In this rank he was initially commander of the artillery school of the Bundeswehr in Idar-Oberstein . His last position was from October 1, 1967 to September 30, 1970, in command of the 30th Panzer Grenadier Brigade in Ellwangen (Jagst) .

He was married to Gertraud Rothe, née Hoppe (1919–2003), who died two months after him. The grave is in the cemetery in Luttum .
