Günter Haaf

Günter Haaf (* 1946 ) is a German science journalist . After stints at ZEIT , Natur und Geo-Wissen , he has been the editorial director of the “ Wort & Bild Verlag ” in Baierbrunn since 2003 .

Life

From 1963 to 1966, Haaf completed an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk at Ehapa-Verlag in Stuttgart . From 1967 to 1969 he was editor of the magazine Hobby , from 1970 to 1971 for “akut” and from 1971 to 1975 editor for “ Stern ”. Between 1975 and 1977 he was a "Harkness Fellow" in the USA, where he completed science journalism positions at Science and Scientific American , among others .

From 1977 to 1986 he was the responsible science editor at ZEIT . From 1986 to 1993 he was the founder and editor-in-chief of GEO-Wissen and from 1993 to 1995 editor-in-chief of the journal Natur . From 1996 to 1998 Haaf worked as a freelance journalist. From 1998 to 2004 he was editor-in-chief of the magazine “Gesundheit”, which was merged in 2005 with “ Apotheken Umschau ”.
