Günter Knefelkamp

Günter Knefelkamp (born March 16, 1927 in Barkhausen ; † May 23, 2017 ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and secondary school , he studied at the state engineering school for water management and cultural technology with the degree of engineer (grad.). From 1949 to 1952 he was a hydraulic engineer in a municipal civil engineering office, and then until 1954 to work in the context of development aid in Afghanistan. From 1954 he worked as a site manager and engineer for various companies.

Knefelkamp had been a member of the CDU since 1962. He was active in numerous party committees, so u. a. as a member of the Herne district board.

From May 30, 1985 to May 30, 1990 Knefelkamp was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected from his party's national list.

He had been a member of the city council of Herne since 1969.
