Günter Meyer zur Heide (born December 16, 1936 in Lippinghausen ) is a German politician and former member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament of the SPD .

Life and work

After attending primary school , he completed an apprenticeship as an electrical mechanic and worked in the profession. Meyer zur Heide has been a union member since 1955, first with IG Metall and then with the public services, transport and traffic union . He joined the SPD in 1961. He was active in numerous bodies of the party, such as B. as a member of the regional committee NW and as sub-district chairman.

From July 26, 1970 to May 31, 1995 Meyer zur Heide was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituencies 144, 143 and 108 Herford I respectively.

He was a member of the city ​​council of Lippinghausen from 1966 to 1969.
