Günter Rühs

Günter Rühs (born January 4, 1953 in Neubrandenburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2006 to 2011 he was a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament .

Life

Rühs completed his Abitur in 1971 in Neubrandenburg, after which he did basic military service for 18 months. From 1973 he studied foreign trade at the Berlin School of Economics; In 1978 he finished his studies. As the owner of a fashion house that he is running in the third generation, he is an independent entrepreneur.

Rühs is Protestant, married and has a son.

Rühs joined the CDU in 1992 and was a member of its district executive from 1993 to 1994. Since 1994 he has been a councilor in the city council of Neubrandenburg, where he was deputy chairman of the audit committee. From 2000 to 2002 Rühs was the parliamentary group manager and from 2002 to 2004 deputy mayor of Neubrandenburg. He also served from 1993 to 2004 commercial judge at the district court of Neubrandenburg . Since 2004 he has been a member of the CDU district executive again. Since 2004 he has been the city president of Neubrandenburg. In the 2006 state elections, he became a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament with a direct mandate in constituency 2 (Neubrandenburg I) . There he was spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group for labor market and health policy. At the end of the 5th electoral term in 2011, he had to resign from the state parliament because he was unable to re-enter through a direct mandate or the state list.
