Günter Schöneberg (politician)

Günter Schöneberg (born April 25, 1947 in Stromberg ) is a German CDU politician .

Life and career

Schöneberg trained in a tax consultancy office, at the same time he attended the commercial vocational school in Bendorf and the tax school in Neuwied . After completing his three-year military service with the German Navy , he worked for several trading companies, where he took on positions as department head and managing director. In 1974 he started his own business in the carpets and flooring industry. In 1986 he founded a management consultancy based in Koblenz . In 1991 he also gained a foothold in the new federal states and founded a real estate company and a commercial and industrial center in Wilthen, Saxony . He was also an honorary judge at the Koblenz Administrative Court .

Schöneberg is the father of three children.

In 1969 Schöneberg joined the CDU. He participated in the establishment of the local association of the Junge Union in Nauort and Stromberg. He was a member of the state executive committee of the CDU's association of medium- sized companies and was deputy state chairman there from 1990. In terms of local politics, he held a mandate in the Bendorfer city council and in the legal committee of the Mayen-Koblenz district . In the state elections in 1996 he won the direct mandate in the constituency of Bendorf / Weißenthurm and was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for one electoral term until 2001.
