Günter Schlatter

Günter Schlatter (born March 7, 1941 in Cologne ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Schlatter attended elementary school, completed an insurance apprenticeship and completed an evening course at the Administration and Business Academy in Cologne. He then worked as an accounting manager, authorized representative, and later as an authorized signatory and department head at Nordstern Versicherungs-AG in Cologne. In 1961 Schlatter joined the SPD, where he was chairman of the SPD district of Middle Rhine from 1973 to 1986. At the same time, he was a member of the SPD parliamentary group from 1980 to 1987 as a member of the German Bundestag and as a member of the finance committee .

In 1986 he was appointed to the board of the Provinzial-Versicherung-Rheinland in Düsseldorf , where he took over the position of deputy chairman in 1994 - and as of January 1, 2002 the chairman of the board. In addition, Schlatter was a member of the Advisory Board for Public Administration of Westdeutsche Landesbank and the trade union for trade, banks and insurance companies . In 1977 he founded the Willi-Eichler-Bildungswerk, of which he is also chairman.

At the age of 65, Schlatter retired in March 2006 at the Provinzial, from which he returned three years later and on July 1, 2009 took over the "Finances" department at the RAG Foundation in Essen .
