Günther Bahr

Günther Anton Bahr (born March 15, 1944 in Vienna ; † November 3, 2011 there ) was an Austrian moderator . Between November 1970 and April 1999, he presented the ORF program “ Motorists on the Road” more than 3,000 times and was the member of the team who had looked after the world record series the longest.

Live and act

Bahr studied economics at what was then the University of World Trade in Vienna . In 1969 he and nine other later colleagues won an ORF casting, in which 2,000 people had participated. After training as a journalist, Bahr worked for motorists on the road .

In addition to this series, which is popular in Austria, Günther Bahr designed and moderated numerous series, such as B. Blue Berets , which were sent to the Austrian UN soldiers in action by means of shortwave .

In 1980 Bahr was employed in training for ORF editors. As a result, private companies and public agencies also hired him for training and further education. In seminars he prepared executives for interviews and television discussions. After car drivers were hired on the road in 1999 , Bahr made the decision to set up his own company, Mediatraining . In September 2002 he left the ORF.

Most recently, Bahr worked as a media trainer, including at the Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz and at the Danube University Krems .

He died unexpectedly at the age of 67 as a lecturer on a first aid course and was buried in the Ober St. Veiter Friedhof (T-8-22) in Vienna.

Private

Günther Bahr was married and had a son. The former moderator studied psychotraumatology in Krems until 2006 (graduated with an "academic expert in psychotraumatology") and in November 2008 graduated from Graz with the title "Dipl. Hochschuldidaktiker". In 2009, the continuation of the psychotraumatology studies at the Danube University to the "Master of Science in Psychotraumatology" followed.

In his free time, Günther Bahr volunteered for the Austrian Workers' Samaritan Association , mainly as a lecturer, as well as in the field of crisis intervention and disaster relief. He was also the press spokesman for the Austrian Samaritan Association for years.
