Günther Knödler
Ernst Günther Jakob Knödler (born January 10, 1925 in Püttlingen , † August 3, 1996 in Völklingen ) was a German fencer who competed for the Saarland .
Career
Günther Knödler took part in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki for Saarland . He competed with both the foil and the saber in the individual and team competition, but did not get beyond the first round in any competition. He was also a participant in the 1955 World Championships .
Knödler started fencing at TV 1878 Völklingen . From 1954 to 1958 he fought for MTV Neunkirchen , for which he took second place in the German championship of saber fencers in 1955 . In 1955 and 1957 he was also the Saarland champion in foil singles.
