Günther Schlicht

Günther Schlicht (born December 17, 1901 , † July 4, 1962 in Basel ) was a German industrial manager in the mineral oil industry .

Life

Schlicht studied mining science in Berlin and Munich . In 1924 he started as a trainee lawyer in the state mining administration and was appointed mining assessor after passing the state examination . From 1928 Schlicht began his activity in the Deutsche Petroleum Aktiengesellschaft (DPAG).

During the Second World War, Schlicht was appointed head of the specialist department of the Technical Brigade Mineral Oil (TBM). As part of the planned summer offensive of 1942 on the Eastern Front, this was supposed to put the oil wells in Maikop , Grozny and Baku back into operation. From 1952 to 1954, Schlicht headed the German Scientific Society for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Coal . V. (DGMK). As CEO of Deutsche Erdöl-Aktiengesellschaft (DEA), Schlicht tried to open up new business areas in Syria .
