Günther Simon (born May 11, 1890 in Krefeld , † April 22, 1972 ) was a German politician ( FDP ). From 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After completing secondary school , Günther Simon began studying history, economics, German and Romance languages ​​at the universities of Strasbourg, Bonn, Brussels, Berlin and Marburg an der Lahn in 1908. In 1914 he passed his philological state examination in Marburg. From November 1914 to April 1917 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . After the war he became a teacher at a secondary school. In 1942 he was promoted to Dr. PhD in economics.

From 1922 to 1934 Simon was deputy chairman of the Lower Rhine district group of the Reich Association of Higher Officials and from 1924 to 1934 a member of the advisory board of the Rheinischer Philologenverein.

From 1920 until the end of the Weimar Republic in 1933, Simon was a board member of the Krefeld district group of the German People's Party .

After the Second World War he became chairman of the Krefeld district association of the FDP, chairman of the FDP district association Linker Niederrhein and a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state board of the FDP. Simon was elected to the state parliament via the FDP state list in the second electoral term. He was an MP from July 5, 1950 to July 4, 1954.
