GBH is a British punk band from Birmingham . You are considered to be the co-founder of hardcore punk .
Band history
GBH stands for "Grievous bodily harm" in the United Kingdom and is comparable to the German criminal offense of dangerous bodily harm . The band was formed in 1978 with Colin "Col" Abrahall (vocals), Colin "Jock" Blyth (guitar), Sean McCarthy (bass) and Andrew Williams (drums). After a short time they renamed themselves Charged GBH , as there was already a band under the abbreviation GBH.
In 1980 two demos were created , the GBH for the next two years performance opportunities in British clubs, u. a in the 100 Club . A US tour also took place.
In 1982 GBH released their debut album City Baby Attacked by Rats on Clay Records. Today, the album, along with its successor City Baby's Revenge, is considered a hardcore punk classic. GBH reach # 17 in the UK charts with their debut album. In 1983 they changed their name back to GBH. They were called that by most of the fans and the other group hadn't given any more signs of life.
In 1986 GBH changed the record company and released five albums by 1992, which however no longer reached the class of their predecessors. The style fluctuated back and forth between Thrash Metal and hard punk during this time .
In 1997 Punk Junkies was released on SOS Records and in 2002 the album Ha Ha on Go Kart Records. The band is still active today. In 2010 the album Perfume and Piss was released .

GBH is considered to be one of the most influential punk bands of all time. Their hard, uncompromising style influenced not only hardcore but also the development of thrash and speed metal . Her first two albums were reissued over time, but the later albums are not in great demand.
